AI Literacy for Employees: Use AI Well and Safely at Work

Course Details
This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.
Every lesson is taught by Katie, our AI voice assistant. The animated visuals and the instructor's on-screen video segments are also AI-generated. The course is curated by your instructor, Vinay Vernekar, and team, who wrote, fact-checked and reviewed every lesson and directed every AI tool used to make it.
AI is already part of your workday: in your inbox, your documents, your meetings and the tools your company relies on. Used well, it saves real time. Used carelessly, it invents facts, leaks confidential data and makes mistakes that look convincing.
This course gives every employee the practical AI literacy to use these tools with confidence and care. It needs no technical background, and every example works with whichever AI assistant your employer approves.
In seven short sections, about 80 minutes of video in all, built around a fictional company and real, documented case files, you will learn:
- What AI and generative AI really are: a pattern engine that predicts text, not a mind
- Why AI sounds sure even when it is wrong, where it helps or hurts at work, and the guardrails AI agents need
- How to work with AI: what to delegate, how to ask with a simple recipe, and the draft, check, improve, own it loop
- A start-to-finish demo, plus examples for HR, finance, sales, support and operations
- How to protect confidential data, and the difference between work and personal AI accounts
- How to recognise deepfakes, AI-written phishing and hidden instructions aimed at AI tools
- Who is accountable when AI gets it wrong, and when to say you used AI
- What to look for in your company's AI policy, and the EU AI Act in plain language, updated for the July 2026 changes
- How to stay confident as your job changes, with a 10-minute weekly learning habit
Every section ends with a short scenario quiz, and the course closes with a final scenario assessment. You also get three downloads: your personal AI Playbook, an AI policy checklist, and a team AI-literacy record template for managers.
For organisations in the EU, the course can form part of the AI-literacy measures that Article 4 of the EU AI Act asks employers to take, and it can go in the internal record of measures that the European Commission says is enough. It does not on its own make an organisation compliant. It is general information, not legal advice.
Whether you work in HR, finance, marketing, sales, operations, support or management, you will finish ready to use AI at work safely, effectively and responsibly.
