CPP is the advanced C++ Institute certification, and it tests something most working C++ developers rarely practise: reading code precisely, in your head, with no compiler in front of you. The questions hand you a template instantiation, an STL container operation, an operator overload or a stream manipulation and ask what it prints, whether it compiles, or which line breaks it. You cannot guess your way through that, and you cannot lean on an IDE that has been quietly catching your mistakes for years.

There is a second gap worth knowing about before you book. The official syllabus covers the full classic library surface — including functors and the older function adapters that modern C++ codebases have largely abandoned. If you write C++ every day using range-based loops, auto and smart pointers, your day job is not preparing you for a meaningful slice of this exam. Experienced developers fail here far more often than they expect, and almost always in the same places.

How to use this course
