This course prepares you for the Dell PowerProtect Data Domain Deploy v2 exam (D-PDD-DY-01), the Dell Technologies certification for implementation engineers, technical support engineers, project managers and solutions architects who physically install and bring up PowerProtect Data Domain systems. Note the subject: this is the Data Domain backup appliance family — deduplication, DD Boost, CIFS/NFS, replication and Secure Multi-Tenancy — not PowerEdge servers or PowerFlex.

You get 6 practice tests of 50 questions each, 300 questions total, split across the three official topic areas at Dell's published weights: Pre-Deployment Check (14%), Deployment (52%) and Post-Deployment (34%). Every published objective is covered, from interpreting customer site requirements and checking service tags, through racking the head unit and expansion shelves, cabling, management network setup and backup connectivity, to system access, monitoring, data security features, backup software configuration and policies.

The differentiator: every question ships with its own original infographic, 300 diagrams total, each built for that specific question. A question about shelf cabling gets a diagram of that cabling; a question about a replication context gets a diagram of the replication path.

Questions are framed as a real deployment engagement: rack-and-stack at a customer site, then bring-up and integration. They hinge on order, cause, or the right tool — the sequence of a bring-up, why a cabling or network choice matters, which protocol suits a given backup application. Every question includes a conversational short explanation plus a detailed professional explanation of why the correct answer works and why the other options do not.

Each test is timed at 90 minutes with a 70% passing target, so you can rehearse under exam-like pressure. The real exam is 50 questions in 90 minutes.
