Course Details

This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.

Electric hypercars represent one of the most exciting intersections of automotive engineering, electric propulsion, aerodynamics, robotics, and aerospace technology.

In this course, you will explore the engineering principles behind futuristic high-performance electric vehicles and develop the skills to design and simulate your own conceptual electric hypercar.

Inspired by emerging electric supercar technologies and demonstrations such as the next-generation Tesla Roadster, this course takes a practical, multidisciplinary approach to understanding advanced vehicle systems.

Design and Simulate a Futuristic Electric Hypercar

You will begin with the fundamentals of physics, force, acceleration, energy, and vehicle dynamics. From there, you will explore the engineering systems that make modern electric performance vehicles possible, including electric motors, inverters, battery systems, chassis structures, suspension, aerodynamics, and electronic control systems.

You will also examine emerging technologies such as fan-generated downforce, ground effect, aerospace-inspired propulsion, and vehicle attitude control.

Throughout the course, you will work on practical engineering activities using Python, numerical simulations, CAD tools, and conceptual system designs.

You will learn how to model electric vehicle acceleration, simulate motor and battery behavior, analyze aerodynamic forces, and create basic vehicle control algorithms.

Advanced lessons introduce the physics of cold-gas propulsion and six-degree-of-freedom motion through software simulations rather than hazardous propulsion hardware experiments.

Final Capstone Project

By the end of the course, you will create Project Hypercar X, a conceptual electric hypercar engineering project incorporating performance requirements, vehicle architecture, powertrain modeling, aerodynamic analysis, control software, safety considerations, and simulation results.

Whether you are an engineering student, software developer, automotive enthusiast, or technology professional, this course will help you build practical knowledge of the systems and processes used in advanced vehicle engineering.

No previous automotive engineering experience is required. Students should have basic mathematics skills and be comfortable learning technical software.

This is an independent educational course and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Tesla, SpaceX, or any vehicle manufacturer. Physical propulsion systems, full-scale airborne maneuvers, and experimental vehicle stunts are outside the scope of student activities.

AI tools have assisted with curriculum planning and preparation of educational materials. Technical explanations and project materials are subject to instructor review.
